Robert College Pictures

Lately, some of my friends and family have been asking me when I plan to return to Minnesota. The answer is, "Not yet!" To give you some idea of my reasons for wanting to stay here, I have been taking a few pictures of the campus of the school where I work and live. In addition to the obvious physical beauty of the nature surrounding me, the buildings themselves and in particular the contents of some of those buildings, such as the Robert College library, are equally breathtaking. Rather than endless displays of books, the balcony area above the library is filled with displays of antiques and artifacts dating from the Ottoman period back to ancient Greece, and everything in-between. The collection is all authentic and is on some kind of permanent loan from the Turkish Ministry of Culture. The fact that I am fortunate enough to teach here is only half of the reason why I am unwilling to leave anytime soon. The fact that I am also provided (free of charge!) with housing on this beautiful campus makes me that much more entrenched in what is surely one of the most unbelievably golden opportunities of my life!
